Last month, the church Bill and I are members of, BarnabasChurch Centre in Longden Coleham, Shrewsbury, was devastated by flooding.
As a thriving community church there are many short and long term challenges, but one by one they are being resolved, through the amazing and tenacious work of our church leaders, church staff and volunteers from our membership and the generosity and kindness of other churches, Shropshire Council and numerous other people. The church has many and varied classes and courses running throughout the year and the flooding has really affected us.
One of our courses was held in the Garden Room at Newton Meadows on
Sunday last. Its informal, tranquil and beautiful setting was perfect for our course “retreat day,” and provided exactly the atmosphere we were hoping for. Everyone who attended just absolutely loved the location and I suspect there will be a demand for more events at this venue.
